Waking up at Tallebudgera Creek, Qld, Australia
It’s winter in Australia and the covid lockdown in Gold Coast ended at 4pm. We packed up and left the park we were staying at and moved to Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park but arrived when it was dark and drizzly. This morning, as usual, I woke up before the kiddos, and snuck outside to see where we were and was absolutely amazed at the location and the natural beauty all around me.
Tallebudgera Creek is a crystal clear pristine water way that connects to the Pacific Ocean in between Palm Beach and Burleigh Headlands in the Southern part of the Gold Coast. There are pelicans, and all sorts of water birds, and fish that you can see through the water.
I followed the paved pathway along Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park under the bridge and out to a peninsula which opened up to a long stretch of picture perfect beach on one side and the crystal clear creek on the other framed by the lush Burleigh Headlands. The sun was just rising and casting beautiful cloudy reflections in all the puddles that hadn’t fully soaked in from the rain the night before.
This area has so many active people with countless people running and biking on land and swimming, kayaking, and surfing in the water. When this is your backyard, I can imagine you’d want to be in it as much as possible.
Feeling very lucky that we get to stay here for the next week and a half.
